World Malaria Day - 2017, Ved, Surat
World Health Organization has declared 25th April as “World Malaria Day”. In order to develop an awareness about Malaria in general public, considering the “World Malaria Day”, Yogi Divine Society had organized a seminar on Tuesday, the 25th April 2017 in Rupal Society at Ved Road, Surat where, around 75 gents and the youth had received the knowledge about the reasons for the spread of Malaria, its symptoms and the steps of precautions to save from it.
While explaining about this disease through a power point presentation, the institution’s volunteer Sri Gopalbhai Rathod said that, it is considered to be one of the deadly diseases in the world. According to the figures of WHO, in spite of latest scientific medical researches and treatments, more than nearly 5 lakh people die of Malaria every year in the world today.
4 different types of Malaria are noticed which are caused due to the bite by anopheles female mosquito who carries a virus named plasmodium. Its symptoms are fever with shivering, body pain and headache.
Advising to stop the breeding of mosquitoes to prevent the spread of this disease, he said that, the waters collected in the pits and shallow pitches/pools around should be removed.
Having received adequate information about Malaria, all the participants also promised to assist in the fight against it and highly appreciated this effort by Yogi Divine Society.
