On account of World Tobacco Day, Yogi Divine Society had, on 16/7/2015 organized a general meeting in Richhiya village of Halol Taluka in Panchmahal Zilla in which, around 85 villagers were encouraged to give up their addictions of bidi, tobacco and cigarettes etc. while, Dr. Sri Devendra Pandya, who gives his service in institution’s medical mobile van in village areas had also examined the villagers.

As a part of its several social service activities, Yogi Divine Society’s medical mobile van regularly visits internal remote village areas and examines the residents there for their health and provides free of cost the required medicines to them.

Noting high level of various addictions among people in village areas due to lack of low level of education there, Yogi Divine Society had organized this meeting there and had tried to awaken the people for their health where, the sirpanch, dy. Sirpanch, the employees of panchayat office and principal and teacher staff from Govt. school also remained present. While explaining the deadly effects of addictions on the body, they were also advised to give them up. After the meeting, Dr. Devendra Pandya had examined people for their diseases which included mainly of their mouths, chicks, lungs and stomach and had given the required medicines to those suffering from diseases of mouths, chicks and lungs due to use of tobacco and bidi and those suffering very seriously were referred to Govt. hospitals in the cities for check-ups.

When the leaders of Richhiya village had appreciated these services by Yogi Divine Society, the villagers had also thanked the institution for providing them check-up services and required medicines free.
