International Yoga Day - 2016, Haridham, Sokhada

To celebrate the International Yoga Day, Yogi Divine Society had organized a Yoga Shibir in Ambrish Hall at Haridham, Sokhada on Tuesday, the 21st June 2016 in which, around 550 saints, sadhaks and the residents from the surrounding villages like Sokhada, Mirsapura, Dasharath and Sisva had received information about pranayams and yogasans from the yoga teacher.

Yoga and pranayams have contributed substantially in good health of Yogi Divine Society’s president P.P. Hariprasadswamiji even at His such an old age of 84 years. During His travels in India and abroad, He comes in contact with lakhs of people and in His preaching/speeches also, He always suggests/advises all to adopt/follow the Indian systems for health like ayurved and yogasans.

Incidentally, when, as a result of successful efforts by the P.M. of India Sri Narendrabhai Modi, United Nations Organization (UNO) has declared 21st June as “International Yoga Day”, to celebrate the same, Yogi Divine Society had, as in the last year, this year also organized this yoga shibir.

In the beginning, the yoga teacher had, to all the participants in the shibir, informed in short about what is meant by yoga, what are its main factors and, why the processes of yoga like yogasan, pranayama and meditation should be adopted in our life.

Then, the yoga teacher and his assistants practically demonstrated halasan, shalabhasan, tadasan, chakrasan etc. and informed their benefits followed by the training of pranayams like bhramari and kapalbhati etc. and, describing their benefits, it was informed that, waste materials of the body are thrown out through our urine and excrement but, to clear the waste from our lungs and head/brain, both these pranayams are very useful.

This was followed by explanation about the effects of different palm-positions made with the help of fingers on our mind-body and their effects also on different chakras of our body.

Carefully watching all these processes, all the participants, saints, sadhaks and others had tried to practice and adopt them.

At the end of the shibir, all took light snacks and dispersed.
