A campaign for protection against sunstroke was organized at Haridham, Sokhada on Tuesday, the 11th April 2017 during which, the pamphlets containing the symptoms and the remedy of sunstroke were distributed free to all along with the packets of glucose and the water with glucose was also served to all the people passing on the Vadodara- Sokhada road to give them protection against heat-wave of which, more than 250 persons of the villages like Sokhada, Asoj, Mirsapura, Sisva and Ajod had taken benefit.

Due to global warming and heat-waves, the heat is exceeding the normal limits in the atmosphere this year. Scientifically looking, the human body throws out excess heat in the form of sweat to control the body temperature but, if the heat in the atmosphere increases certain limits, even this system also fails to work as required and the heat starts collecting in the body itself which we call the sunstroke.

To avoid such a situation, one must avoid going out in the sun and should consume more glucose mixed water as, due to excessive evaporation of water from the body, it results in dehydration which causes damage to the delicate organs like spline, lever, brain and kidney and, if the signs of giddiness, increase in the heart beats or any other changes in the body are noticed, a contact to a doctor must be made and immediately necessary treatment must be taken. Even the health Dept. of the Govt. of Guj. has also issued a circular advising the public to be careful against the heat-wave and also requested the social service institutions to cooperate in this regard of public awakening.

As such, Yogi Divine Society had distributed the pamphlets giving information about sunstroke like its symptoms and the steps to be taken to save from it along with the packets of glucose free of cost to the general public for protecting their health. It had also arranged for temporary counters on roads to provide free of cost the cold water mixed with glucose to all the passersby and also alerted them against sunstroke. A retired bank manager Sri Pravinbhai Panchal had also joined this social service with zeal.

While highly appreciating this effort by Yogi Divine Society, the people around Haridham had also thanked the institution to provide to them the most useful information for their health.
