On account of 67th Republic Day, Yogi Divine Society had organized on Thursday, the 31st Jan 2016, a grand program at Atmiya Dham (Bakrol) to remember and respect the highest contribution in India’s fight and struggle of Independence, a speech by a renowned Gujarati author Dr. Sharad Thakar on Veer Savarkar, “A lion man”. Around 650 participants had participated in this program and had known about the great dedications given by India’s immortal sons.

Such programs are organized regularly/periodically by Guruhari P.P. Hariprasadswamiji, the founder president of Yogi Divine Society and His saints and the volunteers so that the spirit of nationalism is developed in the youths and they become noble and spirit-full and serve their families, the society and the Nation in the best possible manner. On 26th Jan, 2016, it has been 66 years since the constitution of Independent India was prepared and came in force and to celebrate this occasion, this program was organized.

While speaking on this occasion, the main speaker, Dr. Sharad Thakar spoke on many less known matters of Veer Savarkar’s life. Born on 28th May 1883 at Bhugur village of Nasik Dist., Vinayak Damodar Savarkar did his studies in India and England. Even during his student life, he was associated with India House and had himself constituted and established companies like Abhinav Bharat Society and Free India Society and had thus contributed his major share in the independence of India. It was him only to use first time the word like “Hindutva” to lay the foundation stone of independent India in accordance with the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” as per Hindu Scriptures. Declaring ban on his book “Bharatiya Swatantrata Sangram”, the British government had arrested him in 1910 and sent him to jail of Andaman Nikobar for his life time imprisonment. Thus, through the medium of his articles and all India tour and the speeches, he had developed a gigantic storm of opposition against the English Rule all over India and had contributed his prominent role in our fight for independence. We can see and experience today, the effect of idea of Sovereign India on our constitution which Veer Savarkar had thought about at that time.

After the speech by Dr. Sharad Thakar, P. Guruprasadswami had made an occasional speech followed by an honour to Dr. Sharad Thakar by presenting to him a shawl and a momento by Yogi Divine Society.

Through the medium of this program, everybody, ladies, gents and the students had become aware about the great sacrifice by Veer Savarkar and his revolutionary acts full of love for nation.

The stage management was looked after by Shri Ashavbhai Patel. The other dignitaries like Dr. R.K. Sir, saint leaders P. Guruprasadswami, P. Anandsagarswami, Shri Vitthaldas Patel (Secretary, Yogi Divine Society), Shri Maheshbhai Patel (Valasan), Shri Rohitbhai (MLA, Anand), Shri Kantibhai Chavda, Shri Naginbhai Sheth and the teachers/professors from Anand-Vidya Nagar had also remained present .
